The spirit
Treat other members with the same respect you would in a professional briefing. Disagreement is fine; bullying, scapegoating, and pile-ons are not. If you're not sure whether something belongs on Guild, it probably doesn't.
You may not
Post illegal or seriously harmful content
- Incitement to hatred or violence, Holocaust denial, glorification of National Socialism, and other content criminalised under §§ 86, 86a, 130, 131 StGB or equivalent law in your jurisdiction.
- Terrorist content, child sexual abuse material, and any other content prohibited by EU or German law.
- Threats of violence, doxxing (publishing private contact information of others without consent), and stalking.
- Sexually explicit content and content involving minors in a sexualised context.
- Promotion or sale of illegal goods, services, or unlicensed tours.
Harass or discriminate against other members
- Slurs and dehumanising language directed at people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Targeted harassment campaigns or repeated unwanted contact after a member has asked you to stop.
- Sexual harassment, including unsolicited sexual messages and unwanted sexual advances.
Mislead, scam, or defraud
- Impersonating another guide, operator, organisation, or Guild itself.
- Posting fake job listings, fake reviews of yourself, or fake credentials.
- Phishing, malware, link-spam, and pyramid or commission-baiting schemes.
- Charging customers for tours you have no licence or right to deliver.
Infringe other people's rights
- Uploading photos, text, or other material that you don't own or have permission to use. Stock images lifted from competitor sites, museums, photographer portfolios, or encyclopaedias are out — even in your profile bio. See our Copyright Policy.
- Sharing private messages, personal data, or identifying details of customers, colleagues, or members without consent.
- Scraping or systematically collecting other members' data, including by automation.
Misuse the platform
- Operating multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or moderation actions.
- Off-platform recruitment of members for paid services using direct-message data (you may of course refer members to your own work via the forum or your profile).
- Bots, scraping tools, denial-of-service attempts, and reverse engineering of the application or backend.
- Routing customer payments through Guild's infrastructure — we do not handle bookings; do not represent that we do.
Reporting and moderation
Every post, profile, job, and message in Guild carries a Report action. Reports are reviewed under our DSA Notice & Action procedure. For urgent issues you can email reports@guild.guide.
Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted: Guild administrators cannot read messages between members. If a message you have received breaches this Policy, the in-app report attaches only the portion of the conversation you choose to share.
Consequences
Depending on severity and history, we may remove the offending content, issue a written warning, restrict specific features (for example posting in the forum or messaging), suspend access temporarily, or terminate the account. Serious or criminal violations — incitement, hate speech, CSAM, scams, doxxing — result in immediate termination and, where the law requires it, referral to the relevant authorities.
Appealing a decision
If your content was removed or your account restricted and you believe this was wrong, you may appeal in writing within 14 days to appeals@guild.guide. We will respond within 14 days of receiving the appeal.
